Lunar New Year
Through art and cultural activities, Fenix regularly explores contemporary themes linked to migration. This way, there are always new stories to discover in the museum.
In February, the spotlight is on the Lunar New Year ‒ a festive tradition celebrated across the world, from China to Singapore and Indonesia, marking the start of a new year according to the lunar calendar.
On 1 March, Fenix will welcome the Year of the Horse with a Lunar New Year Festival on our Plein. Join us for a weekend featuring a mahjong tournament, a calligraphy workshop, and a lion dance.
In the exhibition
The membership register of the Hark Ching Association was recently donated to Fenix after being discovered by chance at a flea market. Little is known about this community and its members, and we’re keen to learn more from anyone who can shed light on their history.
You can explore the entire register digitally. The link below also contains a contact form. Is one of your relatives listed in the register? Or do you have information about the Hark Ching Association? Please share it with us ‒ we’d be delighted to hear from you!
