Connecting on the Kaap

Choreographer Louelle van Veen works for the Danshuis, which will be created in 2030 in the former Provimi factory next to Fenix. Because Louelle doesn’t want to wait until 2030 to start dancing, she is already launching dance projects in the neighbourhood.

In the dance project COOL COMMUNITY, children on the Kaap work together with older residents of Katendrecht to create a performance with live music about the area and its stories.

Come and see the dance performance, When We Meet. In this performance, the makers explore what connects people from different generations. Stories and elements of Katendrecht run like a common thread throughout the piece.

Danshuis

The Danshuis will welcome everyone, regardless of age, ability, or experience. Here, joy is found in every first step and every thousandth leap. Movement becomes the language that connects us across generations, cultures, and backgrounds. From children discovering the delight of dance to seasoned dancers sharing their passion, from adaptive programs to professional workshops, we're building a space filled with movement, connection, and boundless joy. Doors open in 2030, but programming has already started.
