In-between: new route in All Directions

During Museumnacht, a new route opens through the exhibition All Directions. Along this route, three new artworks are presented. Discover ten perspectives on migration, told by female artists, including Narges Mohammadi and Sophie Calle, as well as artworks recently added to the collection by April Bey, Latifa Echakhch, and Jasleen Kaur.

The route is available at designated points in the museum.

View from the Tornado

Experience one of the most spectacular views over Rotterdam. Climb the Tornado from the ground floor to the roof, where the city skyline can be admired in the dark. The Tornado is open until 11:00 PM.

Sculpt a Stranger with artist Efrat Zehavi

Where Are We Going by artist Efrat Zehavi is on view in the exhibition All Directions at Fenix. It shows 116 clay portraits of strangers she met on the streets, in parks, libraries, and cafés. Efrat works in public spaces: she talks, listens, asks questions, and slowly gets to know people. As she does, a face takes shape in her hands from clay. In this way, meetings and conversations take on a tangible form.

During Museumnacht, that role shifts. Now it’s your turn. How often do you actually speak to a stranger? What holds you back? What would you ask if you found the courage? In Sculpt a Stranger, we invite you to take a seat at a long table, opposite someone you don’t know yet. You look at each other, ask questions, listen, and at the same time you sculpt each other’s portraits in clay. As you shape the other in clay, the other shapes you. Efrat Zehavi circulates, sharing her knowledge, giving tips, and guiding the process. The result is a work of art.

The workshop takes place in three sessions:

Session 1: 8 – 8:45 PM
Session 2: 9 – 9:45 PM
Session 3: 10 – 10:45 PM

No registration is required. Want to join a session? Make sure to arrive on time.
