Celebration

Throughout the day, you will see how traditional crafts continue to inspire contemporary culture. Embroidery takes centre stage as a shared language that connects people across generations and borders.

On this day, wear something that holds meaning for you: an embroidered shirt or traditional clothing from your own culture. Together, we create a collection of stories and identities in the heart of the city of Rotterdam.

Programme

Presentation of folk costumes
Discover the stories and symbolism behind traditional clothing from Ukraine and other cultures. In every pattern and every stitch, you can see how identity and connection take shape.

Workshops
Roll up your sleeves and learn techniques from makers and artisans. You will create something to take home with you: your own embroidered or printed keepsake
• Vybijka (hand stamping) – traditional textile printing technique
Embroidery basics – learn simple stitches and patterns
Application – explore textile layers and folk art decoration

Live ethno music by KOZA
