Visit Fenix

In All Directions, students in the first years of secondary education can follow a school route around the theme of family. Using a booklet with questions, activities and drawing assignments, students explore the exhibition independently.

Visiting from outside The Netherlands?

The school routes are only available in Dutch. If you’re visiting with an international class, you’re very welcome to explore Fenix at your own pace. Book your visit using the link at the end of this page.

What makes a family relationship or friendship strong?

School route: Family

With this school route, students explore six artworks from the Fenix collection. Along the way, they encounter different perspectives from artists on migration and family.

The activities encourage students to look closely at the artworks and make a personal connection with what they see. They explore how artists represent these themes, while also thinking about what they mean to them personally.

Questions include: What does family mean to you? Can friends feel like family? What makes a family relationship or friendship strong? Are there traditions or customs that are unique to your family?

The school route was designed and illustrated by Vormlust. Students can keep their booklet and take it home after their visit.

Please note that the school routes are only available in Dutch. International students can explore the museum at their own pace.
